Bulk Oil Hydrocyclone

  • Used for water continuous dispersions
  • Feed Oil concentrations up to 45%
  • In series with deoiler can reduce to <30ppm oil

  • In combination with other technology e.g. centrifuges and deoiling hydrocyclones can give very clean product streams

Desanding Hydrocyclone

Desanding hydrocyclone manufactured by KGD Industrial Services

A KGD in house development characterised and proven at Camborne School of Mines. The S-Type hydrocyclone is targeted to fit applications found in the oil and gas industries. Size for size one of the highest flow hydrocyclone units available and still maintains class beating solids removal characteristics.


Degassing Hydrocyclone

Degassing hydocyclone supplied to KPS

Supplied in liaison with ConSepT Engineering, A stand alone unit or fitted inside a separator. Suitable for retrofits. Aid to liquid / liquid separation by removing gas. Benefits include:

  • Reduced foaming
  • Reduction in the use of chemicals
  • Handles slugging flow
  • Reduces oil droplet shearing
  • Prevents fluid back-mixing.

Down Stream Degassing Vessel

Hydrocyclone & Downstream Enhancement VesselsThe KGD Degassing vessel is based on well established principles. We can incorporate inlet degassing hydrocyclones to reduce overall vessel size. A sparge system can enhance the removal of residual free oil following the produced water treatment deoiling hydrocyclones.


Residual Oil Adsorption Vessel

Used downstream of deoiling hydrocyclones or degassing vessals. Operates like a downflow media filter to adsorb residual oil. Media is removed on a regular basis depending on rate of oil contamination.

Chemical Pre-treatment systems

KGD also manufactures chemical pre-treatment systems

Deoiling hydrocyclone efficiency can be improved by upstream chemical injection. Selection of the right chemical for an operating system is the key to success. In summer 2000 we solved a particularly difficult emulsion separation problem using our deoiling hydrocyclone with an upstream chemical provided by Ondeo Nalco. The pilot plant pictured reduced an emulsion with a mean oil particle size of 2-5 microns and an oil concentration of 3000ppm, to less than 30ppm.
